Private voice lessons with Katie

I am dedicated to fostering an encouraging environment and musical growth for students of all ages. I structure lessons so that they are both fun and productive, thoughtfully building good habits of musicianship. My flexible teaching methods and positive, encouraging attitude support students of many ages and skill levels, whether just beginning or experienced, children or adults. I love helping my students find their voice and musicality! We build long-term habits of healthy and flexible vocal production, taking into consideration appropriate musical styles.

I've been teaching voice lessons for ten years, with online lesson options for over two years, and I have been a vocal masterclass clinician for music workshops including ISOCM and Madison Early Music Festival. I hold a BA in Vocal Performance from Augustana College and a Master of Music degree from Boston University.

As a performer, I have recently appeared locally and around the United States with the Mirandola Ensemble, the Rose Ensemble, VOCES8 Scholars, the Boston Camerata, Red Shift Choir, the St. Tikhon’s Choir, and on a GRAMMY-nominated recording of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom with the PaTRAM Institute Singers. My flexibility as a performer means I can support students who are interested in a wide variety of styles as we establish a foundation of vocal freedom.

I am always inspired by the imagination and joy students discover when they choose to make music!
